F.E. Chaudhary in is a long career at a press a photographer  chronicled Lahore a nost eventfull
history of a our time 1935 till thee 1980 the treesure trow of the work is deposited with the national collage of the Arts library .

this is a moving amage of the lahore central jail  built in the lahore late 9th century being litereally pulled down in 1964 .that,s the news with no drama  no revolutaion had taken place but its a symbolism is a simple and a peotic Freedom with a Capital F,A presoner,s dream come treu
the utopia heaven on earth were no jail  exit not even a museums.




The photographer took the pictures standing behind the workers .the image demanded this perspective .he was a participant in the demoli tion to  he made all its future viewers  the participant  the ancient boharh bayyan tree stand a witness many revolationaries were hanged and of the many them were incarcerated in this jail.

What replaced it? Parhapes another jail .a green pasture and hombly neighbourhood or shopping mall plaza a new temple of a capitalism ?
